How communities can change the way we house homeless youth and young adults!

WASHINGTON HOST HOME COALITION (WAHHC)

Mission Statement

PREVENT AND END YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT HOMELESSNESS ACROSS WASHINGTON STATE BY BUILDING UPON AND EXPANDING THE HOST HOME MODEL THROUGH ADVOCACY, TRAINING AND COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND THE OFFICE OF HOMELESS YOUTH.

Vision Statement

TO BRING THE HOST HOME MODEL TO YOUNG PEOPLE AND FAMILIES ACROSS WASHINGTON STATE AS A KEY APPROACH TO ENSURE THAT NO YOUNG PERSON IS FORCED TO SLEEP OUTSIDE OR IN UNSAFE SITUATIONS.

About Us

Housing option for rural communities

image1

Many youth and young adults are out there on their own trying to find their pathway into adulthood. It is difficult to  focus on school when they don't know where they will lay their heads at night or where they will get their next meal.

Creating families

Many youth have not had a healthy family environment or relationships. Host Families help young people experience different and healthier relationships and find adults who care about them unconditionally.

Thinking of Safety

Safe and vetted Host Homes allow young people to escape the streets and unhealthy living situations providing safe and stable housing in communities where young people are already residing.
